Larry Ausley is an ACA certified Whitewater (L4) Kayaking Instructor Trainer Educator, Coastal (L3) Kayaking Instructor Trainer, advanced whitewater (L5), river safety and rescue (L3) and tandem canoe (L1) instructor. He was 2012-2015 Chair of the American Canoe Association‘s River Kayak Committee, co-developer, designer and first lead editor of ACA’s Journal of Paddlesport Education (now in different form), served on ACA’s national Board of Directors from 2008-2011 and is past-Secretary of the organization. Larry teaches in the Research Triangle area of NC as an affiliated Instructor Trainer Educator with Canoe Kayak and Paddle Company and independently for local clubs. He is a past-president of the Carolina Canoe Club. Larry is a retired State of North Carolina water quality biologist with a degree in marine biology, is a Certified Public Manager and is broadly published on water quality monitoring and aquatic toxicology. In 2007, Larry was inducted to North Carolina’s Order of the Long Leaf Pine.
